It was a pleasant surprise when we visited this property for the first time last year. Normally, your lakes are located in low lying areas of the surrounding terrain. However, this is the exception to the rule as this spring fed lake sits surprisingly high (property at 1250 feet) in elevation atop a nice rock ridge. This is not a road access property.
This picturesque property is accessed via an ATV trail / hiking trail that follows a power line from Hwy.# 66 between Larder Lake and Kirkland Lake. This power line trail is maintained by Ontario Hydro so you don't need to worry about maintenance...ever......as it is all done for you. The property is surrounded by a multitude of large lakes including Victoria, McTavish, Crystal, Mud, and Long Lake (see map below). The power line trail is in very good condition and has very few low lying areas as most of the power line runs along the side of a large hill (see contour map) so accessing the property is not difficult. There is also an area located just off the highway where you can park & leave your vehicle & trailer as you ATV into the property (see picture below). This property is very private & remote and is fully treed with large and mature Jack Pine, Black Spruce, Birch, Cherry, Balsam Fir and Aspen. The shoreline on the property varies and includes marshy, grassy, gravel and clay mix frontage. You can walk right down to the waters edge and put in canoe along 70% of the shoreline. The shoreline drops off gradually into the lake at a number of locations, again, making the lake easily accessible. As we canoed around on the lake we observed the lake to be generally shallow along the north & west sides with deeper areas & deeper holes on the east side and in the middle. Fish species are unknown (and there may not be any) although minnows were observed along the shoreline. One could easily stock this lake with Bass and with the current lake habitat & aquaculture, this would make an ideal Bass lake ! The lot itself slopes up to the north gradually and continues to elevate behind the cabin location overlooking the lake providing you with a beautiful view. There is an outstanding cabin location along the east side and is overlooking the lake. From this location you have a nice view of the lake and can walk right down into the water. Plenty of wildlife on this property including Moose, Bear, Fox, Lynx & Partridge. Numerous Moose tracks were seen on the property and along the power line. The avid outdoors person and recreationalist will have a great time with this property as there is canoeing, hiking, camping & wildlife viewing on this parcel, etc.. Government Crown land abuts the west boundary line of the property giving you some additional acreage to enjoy. The Surface rights are included with the mineral & timber rights being reserved.
